 Reunion News

Ahoy there!  The Reunion was a huge success.  Everyone had a great time seeing the sights and visiting together.  This was a time for shipmates to gather together and share "old salt" stories and Honor those who have gone before us.

th_reunion02-8_jpg   The Pensacola NAS Naval Aviation Museum absolutely incredible!
There are simulators, interactive displays and a huge collection of
aircraft from the very beginning of Naval Aviation to the present.

REUNION2    Registration went smoothly and all were excited about seeing
and talking to each other again
.

REUNION8
During our tour of Norfolk, we stopped and visited the Nauticus
Naval Museum.  This is a must see attraction!  The battleship,
USS Wisconsin, will be moored on the opposite side of this
museum next year after it's preparation for tours.

REUNION7
The USS Wisconsin is seen here, in Norfolk Harbor, being
prepared for the Nauticus Museum.  We were told that the ship
should be opened by the Spring of 2001.

REUNION4
We are approaching the USS Stump, DD-978 for our tour of.
    of the ship.

REUNION5
We were welcomed aboard, on the Quarterdeck, by the Exec
(Executive Officer), the OOD (Officer of the Deck) and crew
    members assigned Quarterdeck duties.

REUNION6
The Bridge was quite impressive.  The "Captain's Domain" is
loaded with a vast array of modern electronics and controls.
How does anyone learn all of this???

REUNION1
The reunion dinner was scheduled for the last night.  Everyone
had a great time and the dinner was excellent.

REUNION3    LtCd Chip Weber (Adm Weber's son), Admiral "Stormy" Weber,
Adm Weber's lovely wife and the IG for the Atlantic Fleet take
    time for pictures after dinner.

ReunionD_thumb  Everyone took time for a group photo before dinner.  Everyone
is looking forward to next years reunion and festivities.
