In going thru Dad's papers, Mom found this date diary that Dad had kept during the war.  I felt that it was significant and transcribed it for this page.  I found it to be very interesting and enlightening, especially the last few entries.  Some of the language I could not print, so I fudged a little in the transcribing on a couple of words.  The closer to the states Dad got, the bigger the printing became.
